Kev "BJL" Longman - Vocals
Power, range and control like no one else in the local rock scene. Well that's Kevin's vocal skills taken care of. As the band's front man he is the dynamic presence front stage. On stage he takes the audience by the hand and invites them to experience the excitement of live rock music, performed with skill and enthusiasm. He is also the dynamic presence behind the scenes, being the last of the founder members he takes control of all the backroom admin stuff … and keeps the show on the road! "What (else) can you say about the man?" (Simon 'Rat' Taylor). Well, loads actually. From the age of 6, Kevin was going to rock gigs at Wembley Empire Pool seeing bands like Swinging Blue Jeans, The Hollies, Manfred Mann, aghhh Cliff and The Shads and millions of others, they were just so cool then. The Beatles, Stones and The Who were also breaking at this time and had a huge effect on everyone. After he moved up to Norwich, he got into Hendrix and Deep Purple, rapidly followed by prog bands like King Crimson, E.L.P., Yes, P.F.M, Focus and Uriah Heep. He has always enjoyed bands with masses of energy, but more complex styles hence he's never been a great fan of stuff like Sabbath and old style metal. Kevin started singing seriously at the age of 11, when he trained with Dr David Smith in the C.N.S motet choir in Norwich singing mainly classical stuff. This taught him voice production and breathing. Kevin's vocal influences are; The Guv - Paul Rogers, Ian Gillan and Jon Anderson. These days he listens to Creed, Dream Theater, Rush, Vertical Horizon and Nickelback.
