Trevor Kennedy

Mr Pownall

Trev started late, 'bout 16 ish and had drum lessons with local cabaret/all-rounder & model professional Barry Wortley(who has taught a number of notables going on to greater things ie Steve Barney who plays for Annie Lennox,Roger Waters & session hired-hand). Trev has now been nervously performing in front of people since 1979. He's been through many phases of interest - Punk, Blues, Soul, Metal, before deciding that good ole 'Rock' is where is heart is at as it gets the heart pumping!

He's been a former member of the following bands : NSM, Stoats, Outer Limits, Spiral Noise, Carl Gustav & the 84's, Kamikaze Pilots, Red Harvest (his dalliance with Uni Students & indie pop & the London gig scene), Liza Wolfe Band (in numerous line-ups,still going & still in Trev's opinion the best female blues/rock singer in the area!), The Nivens(actually signed to a label with this lot in an album deal - toured abroad with them). He finally decided what he liked to play & how often he likes to do it (ie. a lot!) so joined Worlds Apart from 1991 to 2007. Sadly WA have recently split up, which has provided both Terry and Trev to become a part of the Doctors - which we all think will be really great!

Influences - has a lot of influences really, it's good to stay open-minded but the usual suspects are in there, ie. Bonham, Paice, Peart. He likes individualism rather than pure soul-less techno-flash (Trev : I've have changed my tune over the years - think it's my age!). Oh yeah,Omar Hakim - for sheer 'one-ness' with the round things. Feel over 'flash' every time! Yeah,I know lots of players have both - don't you just hate them!

Favourite Films/Colours/General Interests - Trev : Many, don't get me started on Napoleonic or Victorian British military history or aviation - have been known to hang upside down in an ex RAF Jet Fighter Trainers, gliders, light planes etc… - bring it on! (STAG : he also likes ordinance. You cant beat a nice self propelled gun can you.)

Future - Trev feels very privileged to get the 'drum slot' in the Docs (ahh, bless him). he's looking forward to the challenge of learning a whole new set, and keeping up with Rat and Stag's alcoholism.

One final word from Trev : "See you at the gigs & you can talk to me, think I've got my head around how conversations work by now!!!"
